looks like from now on it's only going to grow. We'll see in 5 months if it's topped out

In my idea they would first finish the mall and then the workers working on the mall would probably concentrate on the hotel. Then the timing should be good for both towers to be finished at about the same time.

this might be a stupid question to some, but I truley dont know,, Do they actually pump that entire hole full of cement? Just like filling a pool as a comparison,, and how long will it take that to dry enough to mstart building taller? Anybody know the facts?

Of course not, the slab is already formed at the bottom, the hole will become the basement but there will be concrete floors around the core.

Or pooring concrete for the core, we all want to know.
I cannot even see materials for casing on the site yet.

Ok guys here is little summary I can get from pics posted here.

Below is the picture from august 29. On the right side you can notice formworks for the floor of level b4. So to answer your questions yes they already started working on floors around the core. I'm not sure if they poured first floor after two days but if not they will sure do it any day now.

On the left (mall) hole on the other hand you can already see forms for floor of level b3 being set up and floor of level b4 is already poured. So as you can see because of the size of the site they are not pouring floors at once but in parts.

Wow, it's incredible how big this project actually is, the people standing on the structure sure put this into perspective, especially on partykus's top pic..

A single element definitely doesn't weight several hundred tons

Well you never know I just found post in shanghai tower thread when someone was saying columns was 300 tons but he was saying about much larger columns like this below. Pingan's are much smaller so around 100 tons I reckon

Photos like this make me want to return to school and pick up some CE and ME classes to more fully understand what I am looking at.

Haha yeah, architecture would be awesome to study!
But even the staircase leading to the structure looks like a bridge!
