Hi all.

btw burj isn't the tallest in all categories it doesn't have the tallest observation deck for instance.
Hi Pat.

That drawing of the Burj pinnacle is old. The top platform was revised and was built to the new specs. The height to arch. top is 828.000 - no +/- needed.
Also, the roof of the Burj is open to debate for sure. I made a list years ago of multiple heights that could all be called 'the roof'. It is a good example of the reason the official height to roof category was dropped by the council.

Back OT.
Comparing the structure to the only labeled section drawing I have, we are up to the floor of level 7 (just above - counting the splice area).
The drawing shows the levels as such (the drawing is from a while ago, so is accurate if they haven't made any revisions to the first few levels):
- no ground level - the first level above grade is level 1
- Level 1 - lobby - 0.00 meters (finished floor)
- Level 2 - no label but the lobby looks to be 2 levels high for a part of the floorspace and I presume retail in the other areas.
- Levels 3 to 6 - retail
- Levels 7 to 9 - conference
- Level 10 - refuge / mechanical - 49.0 meters (finished floor)
- Levels 11 to 24 - zone 1 - office with 24 labeled as tracking floor

That was exactly the point of my post burj have flat horizontal surface enclosing the building at a height of 828m so technically it is a roof (one of many). So as roof can be even at a top of the spire the point was to show uselessness of this term in case of some buildings.

As a unique part of this building, are they going to do full-on steel plating for the core all the way up? Normally we see columns encased in concrete but instead we have huge plates encased.

Not that unique really They do it the same way on shanghai tower, goldin finance and tow chai fook to just name the few. Only here it's maybe more obvious due to the the fact how the concrete is behind the steel structure so we can see the core "naked"

I'm starting to hallucinate, as before I was thinking there was another steel plate on the core but it's just the perspective. Btw nice to see the concrete progress.
