The progress of the Shanghai Tower encourages me so much in regards to this beauty. Ping An is already flying and I can't wait to see what I looks like in December of his year!!

i'm wondering if there is the risk of collision between the crane and steel, if the operator turn wrong his joystick! its very dangerous!

By that first pic it looks like you can bang your head against that crane.
And that man on the steel being lifted has balls.

I wonder if they'll still be doing that when it's 500 metres up.

I thing that place is more safe than anywhere around on that heights, at least he hung tight on that frame, without the risk to be hit by falling debris or flying super-column parts in other words there are less chances to get hurt over there than anywhere else on the superstructure, unless of course, it doesn't fall.

it doesn't really matter if you're falling down from 50m or from 500m. you're dead both times

Many of you are keep asking why the cranes are not rising further. I remember that I read somewhere the specs for FF 1280 and it states that the maximum height from the last tie to the platform must not exceed 50m. If so, we can clearly see now that there's about 40m from the tie for the two tallest cranes and probably the same for the lower one, since it has no (or we can't see) tie yet. pehaps the formwork must jump another level or two, then a new tie must be installed before the cranes can safely jump more.
