For Shenzhen alone we have 34 threads of buildings over 300m and some of the threads consist of several buildings.

Looks like I've just touched the base of supertalls going up in China, ( I need to do more research, thanks wally, killer.) but 30 plus, and seems like they're working on everyone I've looked for.. At least they're trying to do them regardless. It quite sucks that I have to travel 5000 miles to see some mega and a ton of supertalls, (but that IS my retirement goal a nice 3 month tour of China).. As for the U.S. (which plans suck),, what is there 5 supertalls proposed or on-hold, in NY and NY only? And as for 2WTC,,I'm figuring the chance of that building, being completed to the (2006 scale, not the shorter 1 being contemplated) as for the original plan, being completed in my life, (im 40): Are hitting the lottery, getting mauled by a grizzly Bear, then a Polar bear, then jump in the water to get the blood off me and getting dragged away by a Great White. ALL in the same day.. Just my odds on WTC2's spire being built to the roof of 1WTC.

Probably so. The number of super talls that have begun and then stopped, number 5 that I know of. Chicago Spire, SWFC, Lotte Tower, Ryugyong Hotel, and The Pentonium.

SWFC, Ryugyong both resumed and were completed after a lull with new financing, Lotte and Pentonium are on hold now, likely temporary, and the only one I know of that dug a hole and then completely disappeared is CS.

Whilst the biggest building in the world bubble is well proven, it's likely that if any slowdown happens that these plans will be delayed and not discarded.

Could it all stop? Sure, but I think it unlikely.

China is making a point, and many more of this type of project will be continuing for decades to come. Economic growth in China over the next 20 years, even if one assumes the very most conservative of yoy GDP growth rates, will provide ample capital and demand to construct dozens of these in China.

It is quickly reaching the point where any negative outcome some believe will befell China's economy will be overtaken by facts and reality.

China is not going to become Luxembourg overnight, but a continued rise of hundred's of millions into the middle class and a growing national wealth pool will provide the capital and impetus to build many megatalls.

This is going to happen, and the rest of the world needs to accept this and adjust to it.

There are over 20 supertalls com, u/c, in prep, app, pro in New York. Source: my signature (New York Supertalls). And btw there is so much more to China then its megatalls. Next time I visit China, skyscrapers are last on my list ...

What this building have to do with NYC? Shenzhen is nice and New York is also. The difference is that Shenzhen is a very futuristic city and in NYC are more old aspects (but there will also come a very futuristic one with Hudson yards). I like both citys. And I would travel to both city's because of the skyscrapers.

I usually try to refrain from saying anything about someones grammar or English on these forums, but yeah, sometimes it's painful to read. Honestly, I thought bigreach was from China. Now I realize, he just has a lot to say sometimes and doesn't go back and read it to himself before hitting submit. Perhaps he has trouble putting thoughts into words. Some people care, some people don't. No big deal I suppose
