Come on wally, you like this better than ST?? Just giving you the blues, I like ST(my favorite tower) as you can tell by my avatar. Just the roof and lack of spire,, height I guess,, Kanto's rubbing off on me. No but Ping An is a close second,, definitely like both designs a lot better than the burj however.

i just love symmetry too much for my own good which is the reason i like it more than Shanghai Tower Shanghai Tower is still one of the best buildings rising, but yet i think Ping An is a bit cooler, although not as unique.

Are there two cores or are they constructing two parts separately?

Any news yet on the second (supposedly hotel?) tower next door? If they really redesign it to~450 m, then surely half of it would go to luxury apartments - PingAn may have gotten the idea after seeing East Pacific Plaza condos selling at, ouch, RMB 290,000 (US$ 45,000) per m2!

So, 120 big apartments across, say, 60 floors out of 100, would pay the whole building off, literally upfront...

It must be some kind of optical illusion on my eyes or something but it seems like every other day or so when I check in on this tower, it looks like it has jumped ten floors or so Are they working around the clock on this thing

Well it is like everywhere you go in China and you see under construction buildings, it's like that. That's how I feel too!

According to a guy who apparently work on designing the tower it will be around 300m so the rumors must have been wrong.

I realize this is blasphemy, but this building competes with the Chrysler Building in beauty after seeing that last render.
