That would be a waste. Big cities need green environments.

Besides that, getting rid of hills would be a huge investment, and for what benefit?

^ That angle reminds me of Downtown Manhattan with Ping An mirroring 1 WTC as the focal point

Not to be hyper-critical, as I love how the finished product looks. Anyone else notice it seems this building is mostly core. There really doesn't seem to be that much floor space outside the core.

Percentage wise seen yes, but because the building is so damn huge, the absolute amount of floorspace is still a lot!

That's almost the same with all these tall buildings, just look in the other threads.

I guess so, it just seems odd to me. I see those construction pics a page back and after you consider elevator lobbies there doesn't look to be all that much space left. It just seems to my uneducated eye that you could have the same floor space and cut the construction costs by a lot by building it 40 floors shorter and making the individual floors larger. Can't take the accountant out of me I guess.

I know I know, this site is about high, higher, highest, lol. One should never be a proponent of a shorter building. I just noticed the pics and thought it looked odd.

guys just do the maths

just a quick and rough estimate from me but it should be fairly close the the actual core / floorspace ratio:

Wrong math, should be 5.29/13.2= 40.075%

well i should have called it floor area rather than floor space, misleading...

whilst 5.29 / 13.2 means that the core is 40% in relation to the usable area,

the term 5.29 / 18.49 means that the core makes out 28.61% of the total floor area, so the remaining 71.39% equal to the usable space.

Take 28F for example, the size of the core is 30m*30m,and the external frame is 56.36m*56.36m,So the ratio should be 28.3%
