Hi all.

2 things ...

1 - This project is really moving along at a great pace. Construction techniques look to be as modern as any other project which is interesting considering some of the (for lack of a better word) primitive procedures used during the foundation stage. Don't get me wrong, the methods used were low tech but highly effective in getting the job done - just methods I've never seen used before.

2 - The technical details coming from some of our fellow forummers is great. Keep 'em coming !

Ray.

Model of Ping An and current progress:

click on images for full size

EDIT:
Comparison of Ping An and Goldin Finance:

(click for full size)

In terms of bulk, they are about the same. Ping An is wider at the base, but tapers a lot at the top. Goldin Finance tapers gradually the full height, but is still fairly large at the top. Goldin is higher to roof, and Ping An is higher to tip. I don't think Ping An is really cheating, the design really would look weird without the spire on top.

One World Trade Center (1WTC) - 541m
SEOUL - Lotte World Tower - 555m

CHINA

GUANGZHOU - The Chow Tai Fook Guangzhou - 530m
SHENZHEN - Ping An Finance Center - 660m
TIANJIN - Goldin Finance 117 - 597m
WUHAN - Greenland Center - 636m
TIANJIN - Chow Tai Fook Binhai Center - 530m
BEIJING - Zhongguo Zun - 528m

Looks like they have tidied up the concrete on the lower part of the mega-columns.
I wonder if they are preparing for cladding!
