Are we sure the flight path really is in the way of Qianhai water city and by extension the Qianhai megatall. Is the height limit confirmed?

I saw a figure on a thread that said that there were 74 super tall/mega tall projects for Shen Zhen? Is that an accurate number? The reason I'm asking is that I find it a staggering number. Guangzhou and Tianjin were listed at 14 and 24 respectively.

Another crane jump. It seems that they remove the lowest crane support then reattach it up higher when they do a crane jump. That would be smart, now that I think of it.

He did say "proposals", not things that are actually under construction right now. There certainly are over 20 proposals on this forum, plus probably a couple that z0rg hasn't started a thread for yet because there's not much information yet. 74 does seem a little high, though.

It is right, I made a video about them. My sources are Z0rg's and Scions list with already 50+ projects in it (http://s245.photobucket.com/user/z0r...hen-3.png.html), and the threads here on SSC with projects who aren't listed, because the list is already a bit outdated. I counted proposed, approved, site preperation, under construction and completed supertalls. I think the towers in Qianhai are a bit speculative so I would reduce the number to 66.
The video can be seen here:
http://youtu.be/wIcvcDC2s24

You will find every project in SSC or in the list
Edit: I remember that 9 of these supertalls are u/c, 7 site preperation, 3 built and the rest is proposed.

That is exactly the confirmation I was looking for. The high number of 74 was the figure I was pondering over because I couldn't remember the source.

So there is such a list of projects and it does number up to 74.

Just to clarify something for marioma a proposal does not need to be U/C or in prep to count as a proposal. A plan, a suggestion an idea etc can be counted as proposal.

Perhaps zorg can beam down and shed some light on the matter for us.

no need for shedding any more light, the list clearly states what is true. there indeed are a lot of supertalls proposed, yet you have to keep in mind that Shenzhen develops in stages and a lot of these stages are planned ahead a long time before, that is the reason why a lot of buildings in the list are entitled as masterplan. this means that these buildings could go away if plans change, they are just a figure of what the government plans to put in some areas at some point. Shenzhen is just at the start of a boom with many supertalls rising currently. only time will tell how this develops further. anything further than prep and app status is really hard to figure out if it actually will come into play at one point, especially since the supertalls are often planned as a pack of supertalls, so for example if the new Shenwan Station CBD gets a go, we will see 7 new supertalls rising, probably not at once, but step by step over quite a couple of years. if the area does not start at all, the number of proposals goes down by a bit. and that area is just one example. there is also the Qianhai area, which currently has an unsure future because of its closeness to the airport and rumors and other things, which has a much larger amount of proposed supertalls. Shenzhen does already have 9 supertalls under construction besides the 3 that are finished already. so Shenzhen surely will stay in the top among Mumbai and Dubai in number of supertalls. the only question is how crazy it will be and how quick a boom may come. most likely it is a steady progress and Shenzhen will slowly develop an ocean of skyscrapers, but won't shoot straight up over all other cities in the world. a healthy steady growth is what i expect, although i certainly hope that the tallest of the bunch won't all be late phase projects.
