The rain during the last days cleared the sky and I took a couple of pictures this morning on my way to work.

Ping an crossed the 300m mark
Thanks for the updates DoubleU

In the above pics 2 steel columns equivalent to 3 levels have been installed at the core.
Now Ping an core steel columns are at 307m and the core wall at 282m.

It looks to me like that black part of the cladding is only supporting the silver part and won't be visible in the end.

Yeah, I agree.

What I am curious to know is how they gonna install all the supporting frames around the columns?! I've seen them drilling all those holes by hand hanging down in a basket. I can't imagine them drilling those holes throughout the whole elevation like this.

Yay, finally ;cheers:

This tower shooting up like almost no tower before. Just Burj Khalifa and the IFC in Guangzhou were at least as fast.

I still believe the dark gray portion of cladding will remain as it is. But this time I have highlighted the dark gray cladding in this sectional render. It is clearly visible, especially on the bottom left corner. The details on the dark gray portion look to refined to be covered later on.

The dark gray can also be seen in this diagram I created with the use of various, most up-to-date, renderings.

I haven't seen the floorplans for this section, but the core seems to occupy 90% of the floor's total space. That is very inefficient even for a supertall. I guess the core will be reduced in area soon as the building goes up.

Someone did the math a while ago, and the result was that the core occupies something like 30% of the floor area.
