What are the (X's) shown in the floor plan? It seems to me a building of this size would need a lot more elevators.

I believe X's are also elevators, though they reach notfor all floors.

The "X" are marking "empty" (air) spaces with no floor, for technical installations as well as elevator shafts. One would not believe how much space they take up in the core.

The building absolutely dwarfs that residential tower above( courtesy of Barbaric,) I mean CRUSHES it, shows the true scale of this BEAST!

I actually feel bad for the guys in that residential tower, having too listen to that massive construction site day in and days out for years...

Not really, most of Shenzhen is lowrise and flats and houses. There are few places with these skyscrapers. I think Hong Kong is much worse.

Hopefully the windows on the residential tower have somewhat sound proof windows. I would welcome living in that little tower.

To live there then work in Ping An would be an awesome commute!
