That maybe should be Ping An south, but that one is barely supertall.

Yes, it would appreciate the height and it would balance the skyline a bit. If there is one 660m tall building and only ~300m buildings arround the other buildings the ~300m buildings start looking small and the only climax of the skyline is the 660m building. That will look a bit boring. With a 450m+ near (~1-2 km away) there are 2 dominating buildings in the skyline and the buildings start to emphasize the skyline between them. That makes a far better skyline IMO, because it is not concentrated on one building, there are far more places to look at and not just one extremly dominating part. Dubai is a good example for this problem, the Burj is too dominating and I at least doesn't really recognize the rest of the skyline, I think thats the main point why the skyline with most supertalls hardly is mentioned when we talk about top 5 skylines. But thats just my opinion. Btw I think I read about a 450m+ planned building in Futian district, and if I remember something wrong or I didn't understood what I read (my chinese is pretty bad) we have Ganxia redevelopment which is 380m tall at least. And the skyline as a whole will be amazing because there are dozens of tall towers planned

Shenzhen has multiple core areas throughout the city. That's why I think it won't have many spectacular projects in a single area (except for Baishizhou, if it ever gets approved). But I agree, Ping An will look extremely disproportionate in Futian district, because any supertall under 400m will fail to complement its size and balance the skyline

Baishizhou, Qianhai, the shenwan station area and Caiwuwei. those are 4 areas already that have a potential of having 2 or more 400m towers so even with a pretty wide spread skyline i think a lot of areas alone do have a potential of giving us a few of the best skyscraper clusters in the world

Isn't there the Gemdale 380m project really close to ping an in the middle of the futian district. It's on hold, but construction will resume soon :P Also the ping an south is 300m+. Unless if they gave official height of the the south building, then 300 and over could very well mean a 400m+ additional tower.

caiwuwei is where kingkey and shun hing is, the oldest tall district of the city.
