I live in Scarborough and they say on Emporis that Toronto has around 400 100m+ buildings. Toronto and Shenzhen appear to be around the same size on Google Earth, but it seems Shenzhen has around 10 times more buildings above 30fl. Toronto has most of its skyscrapers located in and around downtown, where concentration is the highest, but Shenzhen apparently has even density of highrises throughout its expanse. That's mind boggling
I even guess Shenzhen has already overcome Hong Kong but still trails behind Shanghai. The latter has a much developed and very dense built-up core which is comparable in size to Shenzhen itself.

The pics of Shenzhen show a city of several highrise clusters and not really a centralized compact CBD

Yes, shenzhen will never have a tall block like dubai marina, but instead spread out districts, for which some can still have several tall buildings, just think about shun hing + kingkey + 660m caiwuwei tower as a skyline similar to lujiazui in Shanghai and ping an is not that far away and from ping an the shenwan towers will be quite visible in the distance and from there houhai with China resources and from there qianhai is visible. And i didn't even mention bashizhou. So a lot of little skylines that are all visible from each other that all support one or more 400m buildings.

I think Future City Tower, Baishizhou towers and Shenwan station towers are building a line from the cost to the mountains with ~20 supertalls and 3 of them are megatalls. Qianhai and Houhai are in the background of this skyline.

Because it is

It is even larger because the urban area north- and eastwards of what Faisal marked also belongs to Shenzhen

Whats usually called Pudong is the entire district on the other side of the river. Lujiazui is a subdistrict of Pudong where all the skyscrapers are clustered.

Shenzhen is actually much bigger than what I marked...In my image Shenzhen starts from Luohu and ends at Bao'an Airport because I don't know what exists beyond those areas. Do you have a map of Shenzhen which shows how big it is?

Shenzhen is part of the Pearl River Delta, one of the most impressive urban areas in the world. Everything has grown together basically creating a city of almost 80 million people. And there are no signs of slowing down. In a few decades cities will become even more entangled and 10% of China's population will live here. There are rumours/ideas to merge all cities into one mega-city. It will be real life coruscant if you're in the middle of it. Image a 'Manhattan or 'Lujiazui' for this type of city. Maybe a CBD with multiple towers over 1km?

That link shows population numbers of 2010. Probably very outdated already.
