Even better... have to say I had my reserves before, but from what I see, it will be a real gem.

Very nice detailed photos! The metal cladding looks very shiny, and I have no more doubt the black part will be covered up later on.

Yeah it has a smooth surface on renders, so I assume they'll put some smooth plating on the rectangular patterned stuff.

The steel has fireproofing foam, and the columns are concrete and therefore inherently fireproofed. The black material under the aluminium cladding is likely fireproofing/insuation as well.

The core is losing a corner at the top.

there seems to be protective sheeting on the steel plating as well.

Why was it that in the WTC building the core didn't rise so much faster than thsi building or the shanghai tower?

Well currently it seems that only one corner has been cut away, the adjacent corner is still flush with the existing core structure, this is very strange.

I think they built the whole steel cross section of the tower together, then cast the concrete around the core steel. Sort of like how they are doing the megacolumns in this building, except with the core.

Can't wait for the cladding to rise a bit more to get a better feel of how the tower is going to look as a whole.
