Did not liked the gold cladding and did not like the spire. Glad both are gone. (at least the gold cladding for sure)

We can see Macau and Zhuhai on the far left part of the last pic on the horizon line.
And on the right part we can see the eastern part of Guangzhou or Foshan, I'm not sure about this one. According to the photographers from Gaoloumi, on that day the visibility was more than 100km.

100km ?

Wow; that's incredible. Guess the pollution problems in China are a bit overblown.

I've heard conditions along the coast are much better than inland, which makes sense.

There are pollution problems in China, but Shenzhen is more a home for high tech industry, not the polluting heavy industry.

Also traffic problems are not as bad like Beijing for example.

15 million in Shenzhen alone,60million + in the metropolitan area.
There are maybe 4 million people in the picture alone.

It probably is overblown quite a bit. In a sense that we probbaly won't hear the full story every time we hear about pollution in China. It's not like the smog is present all the time even in Beijing or Tianjin. While Shenzhen is probably the cleanest major city in China in terms of air quality anyway.

There is a somewhat unusual article on BBC about China's environmental matters: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-33143176

BBC:
Quote:
They have increased their power generation from renewables from really nothing 10 years ago - and now it's 25%. These are very important signals that China is moving into the right direction."
While it is true that pollution is a major concern in China the scaremongers usually ignore the other part of the story: that China is by far the largest investor (larger than USA and EU combined for that matter) into renewable energy sources. Things are improving. Only question how long it will take for the problem to be fixed completely.

60 million metro ? - more like in Pearl Delta (Including Guangzhou and all)

Also most data point that Shenzen have around 11 mil.
