Yeah haha I find myself checking this every single day now. Even though in the end there is probably going to be no spire.

Well i am certain there is not going to be any spire. It was all over the media, the official announcement of the ping-an website . Where they talked about notifying the airport authorities and in a publication of a very reputed journal Caixin. I have no clue how much more proof the forumers really want

Too bad we can't see the bolting connects on that column closer. Could perhaps even gauge the next piece to go in place. But either way we shall know within a week or two.

Otherwise to the question pertaining to the circled concrete formwork, no, those are just as was said, continuing their concreting work to the top of the super columns. No relation to the spire at all for that part.

I'd love to see a truck big enough to carry it, and a crane big enough to lift it.

If there is one it will go up in sections, and it looks like there won't be. I'm guessing they will build the originally designed top and just end it with a small pointy piece on top where the spire would have been.

Seriously I just have no idea why so many people still dream about the possibility of a spire. The building is almost complete if there was any chance of a spire by now they would have brought it to the scene as a spire can't just be added at the top at the end like cherry on top the finished icing. It needs it own version of a foundation to be built into the upper blocks of the high rise and it needs to erected before the surrounding facade is closed. Clearly there is no such attempt and they are just closing out the top .

In saturnspace2's first photo, what is the groundwork in between Wongtee Plaza, and Excellence Century Plaza, right behind Lihe Tower for? What is going on over there?

And we must say they're going up very quick, so the answer is very close

Well that's a great photo! We may not know for several more weeks about a possible spire, but we should know sooner if the internal bracing under the crown will be removed or not. It looks like they are following the original plan for the top (not necessarily including the spire). If the underlying bracing starts to be removed, now that the major diagonal support beams are braced by cross-connections at the top now, it would mean that the open space under the top could still be as originally envisaged in the plans.
