Actually, the 8 fan-shaped holes are indeed for the 8 super columns. The Ping'an tower is octagonal in shape and the size approximately traces the outer perimeter of the 8 holes.

Looks like it's going to be very slender, the diameter, including the supercolumns, looks like about 60-70 meters, so 50-60 meters per side, not more than the former WTC, only this is much taller.

Hi all.

The site is coming together. Excavation on the tower has begun.

This is the latest project to be added to my collection that I will watch and collect pics/info of. The update coverage looks to be great.

Yes, coverage looks to be really massive. Daily, from several sources, from up and from street level. It may be even better than for Tokyo Sky Tree, which means something

This time from MCFXM, gaoloumi.com:

you obviously haven't watched any other supertalls get built, 3 years is nothing compared to others and this is much taller than others as well.

600m tower in three years is not that bad. by 2 - 2.5 yrs, most of the building would have been completed, so its basically the finished product

Have to admit that compared to other excellent designs by KPF (e.g., SWFC, ICC), this design is kind of underwhelming. Really hope that it turns out much better than the renders when completed.

Well... you probably wouldn't even have got a planning permission after 3 years for a normal building in London lol
