Due to its concaving and convexing walls, and you summit the tower, you expect it to gracefully merge with the sky. That's why I think this building needs a spire.

So do I, but I think that it's time to get over it. They won't change their mind.

Interesting idea, it can create a fake spire if it projects light just like the Luxor in Vegas (above)! Though I think there are laws against projecting powerful lights too...

Hi, just a question, not directly related to the Ping An tower

I've read a couple times that the urban area in Guangdong that includes Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and other large cities of Guangdong, is the most populous urban agglomeration in the world, overpassing the Tokyo agglomeration in Japan.

However, most of the rankings still place the Japanese agglomeration (Tokyo-Yokohama-Chiba-Saitama among others) as the most populus urban agglomeration in the world.

For many of those rankings, the urban agglomeration of Guangdong doesn't even appear in the top five, as they consider that Shenzhen, Guangzhou, are not one single urban area.

So, which ranking is right? Can Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and the cities around be considered as one single continuous built-up area?

Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o..._by_population) says that the Guangzhou area is number one. The reason why other rankings 'disagree' may have to do with the fact that Shenzhen and Guangdong are linked by only a relatively small strip of urban area along the banks of the Pearl River as well as the fact that Guangzhou and Guangdong are seperated by the Pearl River, whereas this is not the case with Tokyo and its surroundings.

But anyway, its not really relevant. Both areas are huge agglomerations and all those different rankings simply depend on one's interpretation of a continuous urban area.
