Yeah, now it's "just" the 4th tallest building in the world

Come on people, it's a great and gorgeous tower and I think it's extremely impressive, even without its spire.

I personally love the new top. Looks more Asian, more like a pagoda.

More than the spire, I still miss the GOLD from the early renders

This tower I canīt like any more. Maybe itīs tall, but the original project promised much more and the disappointment is so big. Another grey cladding, like CTF Guangzhou. Both claddings are plain and boring. Pingan looks worse than Kingkey and CTF Guangzhou worse than Guangzhou IFC.

But Mirae street surprised me, looks great and coloured

Before I thought it's better with a spire aesthetically. But now I'm used to the new top. It's still a beautiful almost megatall tower.

Photos Show Ping An Finance Centre's Massive Size

Quote:
2015 was a major year for skyscraper construction. With the completion of 432 Park Avenue in New York City, there were 100 supertalls soaring high above cities all around the world at year's end. 2016 is shaping up to be just as big, if not bigger, in the world of skyscrapers. One of the tallest towers on the planet will be completed this year in the Ping An Finance Centre, a 115-storey behemoth currently topped-out in Shenzhen, China.

The cladding is just sublime. Incredible and jaw-dropping.

Yes, it's great the way the stainless steel captures the light. Reminds me of petronas towers.

It's not one of my favorite supertalls but i like it. And i'm satisfied with the top without spire.

It does not look bad without the spire. However, for a building of such importance, anything less than perfect is sacrilege. Let this be a lesson to architecture students on how a brilliant design is ruined by needless bureaucracy.

Can PAFC be seen from the top of 2IFC or ICC in Hong Kong (and vice versa)? Can it be seen from Chep Lap Kok? Can you see it if landing at Chep Lap Kok?

Its not possible to see PAFC from Hong Kong Island (2IFC), from South Kowloon (ICC) or Chep Lap Kok Airport. Its to far away or you have mountains between.

The picture you see in post #10267 is a view from Hong Kong - but from a hill near Fanling MTR station (and still 10 kilometers away from PAFC).

Actually, hidden somewhere in the depths of this thread there is a photo taken from Chek Lap Kok (on a relatively clear day, with a telephoto lens). There's a sweet spot with a gap between the mountains.

From HK Airport & Lantau island. It's not that far away and Pingan is higher than the mountains.
