It looks sad. Like Bender in that episode, where he lost his antenna.
Well, i bet this building will be used in impotence advertisement a lot. Something like "buy golden dragon, bring your spire back!".

design 7/10 (but who knows, we haven´t seen lightshow yet)
height 9/10

Disappointment? YES, ugly building? NOT

before it was my favorite building pretty much and now it's just behind Shanghai Tower, which was more due to me seeing Shanghai Tower and not the spire cut, so I can do pretty well without the spire

Is that pollution in Shenzhen as well? Why it is so smoggy in the sky?

Yeah it's pollution, because Shenzhen is within the vicinity of thousands of factories and dozens of power plants to power those factories.

I really had high hopes for this building. During construction I thought it was gonna look cool.. but now that it's practically finished.. I feel something is missing (not just the spire ...)

The height and the crown are what this building has going for it. But imo the cladding is kinda lackluster it doesnt stand out except that its the tallest building for hundreds of miles.

Plus water vapor from the sea.

Basically are pollution from Dongguan and other industrial cities. Shenzhen is surrounded by their factories and is too small to have mountains and green space big enough to keep the pollution from getting in.

Plus, Equario is right, the evaporation is huge around Hong Kong, Macau and Shenzhen, it can even go to Guangzhou.
So yeah, pollution but a massive vapor cloud almost all year.

Tower looks "OK". Can be used for a movie scene. Mission impossible V maybe?

Offtopic: Pollution in Shenzhen is not as bad as in Beijing or Dongguan, but it can get above average bad. I think China will soon start putting a lot more effort into molten-salt reactors (they're building a thorium reactor) and standard nuclear.

At this angle, the PAFC tower does NOT look as tall as expected.

The distance from the location where I took the picture to the tower is 6,55 kilometers or 4.07 miles.
