Someone changed it back again - Wikipedia editors can be pissy little bastards - so I removed the section totally - which was the correct thing to do because the comments used both 'weasel words' (speculation is rife that...') and it was unreferenced.

I expect it will be 'reverted' by the same tosser who keeps reverting it, so keep an eye on it.

What do you mean? The page is there and it says "under construction". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pingan_...Finance_Center

The editor who did that was also new. I added stuff back with better wording. You also have to understand that an article is expected to look like this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom_Tower_(Jeddah)

And you can't blame just them. If you guys were generous enough to upload some of your pictures there, it would not only help out a lot it would serve as proof of your testimony. Without a reference, it's the doubt of an editor vs the allegations of some random ip address. The concept of wikipedia is liberal but the bureaucracy is conservative.

A new concrete ring is going on at cap level and all the piles seems are done. I'm very intrigued and both very excited about the next phase!

Hi all.

It is starting to look like there may well be 5 lower levels.
The new concrete they are laying rebar for is the floor of level B4. The rebar sticking up from the top of the concrete piles is at approx. the right level to tie into a raft slab that would be below level B5.

They would just have to dig around the piles, break the small concrete rings around them, and top down the podium another level.

The ceremony they had at the bottom months ago wasn't necessarily (as I was thinking) signifying they had reached the bottom of the excavation. Instead it may have just been about the timing of when to hold the event.

Ray.

In about two years, do you guys think Ping'an will be below, at, or above where Shanghai Tower is now?

What makes you so sure? Shanghai Tower is estimated to be completed in 2014, while Pingan IFC is estimated to be completed in 2015.

Guys!!! This tower is absolutely awful!! 600+ meters and designers haven't spent a moment to draw a nice cladding??? It looks like an amazingly high building with average "small city mall" materials! Or the client want to show off with a supertall building but fainted when he saw the price for the total cladded sq.meters.
The top cone just looks like a simple tapper of the current floors with no re-design to adapt the facade design to the shape. It probably takes one hour to complete the 3D on Sketchup.

What's the matter?
The cladding looks great in the renders.
By the way, Chinese never use such "small city mall" materials for building tall buildings, especially supertalls. They always use steel and concrete to build them!

Shanghai Tower completed in 2016? No way. The latest article I read about it was this one from this year, and it clearly estimates completion in 2014: http://www.cnngo.com/shanghai/life/s...ask-sky-713890
