I hope they do something with this area to the left. Can't be left like this.

This is the arrangement on the Magistrates Court now. Is it supposed to be the Hive logo or am i reading too much into it.

I think that was the plan, think it was grass seed as it still looks very sparse in parts.

The courts are not going there no more are they? If not then what's happening to the land? Just grass? Would seem like a waste.

At least it looks tidy for the first time in many years. And they got rid of those old hoardings.

There's two old Masshouse billboards on each side of that car park opposite that needs taking down.

No Josh, its on hold I think. The grass is only temporary until they can obtain funding.

Yeah Josh, It's on hold at the moment, but there has been a bit of movement on it in the last month or so.

They should really re-think locating the Magistrate's Court here IMO.

It's too far away from the 'law quarter' of town. It will attract riff-raff to the ground floor of what should be classy appartment buildings, and the plot is too small for what needs to be a modern, functional, sizable building which will last the test of time.

The current Dental Hospital (once this moves out to Edgbaston) would be a much better location. This way the riff raff would be kept well away from the park and appartments, littering it up and annoying people. It's also easier for the court chambers and offices, and has better accesibility to and from Steelhouse Lane nick.

Well the courts are publicly funded so there is a good chance a few years down the line they will go up, however the buildings across the road are privately funded so that's a different story. Just have to wait and see.

I think the Dental Hospital would be a much worse site. This isn't out the way at all, the Elizabeth Court (I can't remember the flipping name of it), is just a short walk, with law firms a further walk onwards. And should the law scene in Birmingham expand, the Masshouse offices will become prime locations for law firms to establish themselves.

The proposal itself looks fine - it's big enough to operate effectively, and the public plaza created for it will mean you won't be seeing people running riot across the whole complex.

Anyway, back on topic before guilbert jumps in with "I've been photographing around Eastside for over 3 years"...
