Was in Austin over the weekend and was impressed by this tower's progress and the overall potential the city has and the direction it is taking in its new towers.

Sometime in August, they have 10 more floors to go + the crown.

Nothing new on T. Stacy

I sent an e-mail to their office regarding the towers and I have not received a response yet.

Back to the topic of the Austonian, I plan on going to Austin this week so I will have some new pics for the thread.

Let's hope that the Austonian can be the highest that Austin can build. Austin shouldn't build a tower that's the same height of the tallest buildings in Dallas and Houston.

Why not? Let them build, a taller tower in Austin would get Dallas and Houston thinking they have to build something taller.

Really like the Austonian, by the way. Been following this one for awhile.

I agree with Onn

Let Austin build taller; the views from the hills keep getting better and better.
Also Houston and Dallas have not built anything near the 1000 foot range since the 1980's. Houston has several 400-600 footers under construction which is okay, but bring on the supertalls!!!

By the way here are my photos from last week May 25, 2009

Check out the airplane and the helicopter in the top middle of the image.

This one is unrelated to the Austonian but it is a good viewpoint of the West downtown high rises.

The 360 is listed as 563 feet with the spire on the emporis site. The Austonian will be over 100 feet taller, so Austin is moving up.
