YORK, ENGLAND - hkskyline's Euro 06 Tour (Part 3)

My first stop in York was to visit the National Railway Museum, the world's largest. Quite a huge collection just in the open pit alone.

Was a bit surprised to see a bullet train here as well!

A railway museum will not be complete without models.

This display gallery has so many items to see. If I wanted to research something I could be in there all day!

That day, I went from Glasgow to York, and ultimately bound for London in the evening.

Outside, a huge and expensive ferries wheel awaits.

This is quite an impressive museum, and well worth a visit for rail fans. I'm more into urban rail though, which was a bit weak in coverage here. This museum is more geared towards longer distance intercity rail.

Nice photos, and an aspect of the beautiful city of York that I was not familiar with! Well done....
