BRISTOL - Day-to-day scenes of the West Country's Capital; views, people, traffic, architecture, weather and more!

Having started this thread in the Cityscapes and Skylines Photography Section of this site, and seeing El Greco's worful collection of pictures of tis city - I thought it would be best to move my thread to this part of the site.

I have posted pictures of Bristol day after day since 9th August 2007 so here are some links to the first few pages of the thread:

Page 1: Thursday 9th - Tuesday 14th August

Page 2: Wednesday 15th - Sunday 19th August

Page 3: Monday 20th - Friday 31st August

PICTURE OF THE WEEK:

Thanks, I think despite the age of buildings and architecture around it, it does fit in though I would agree about the 60s skyline. The buildings are all in the right place...they're just not the right kind of buildings. Take care.

Thanks - I agree. I guess that's one way of looking at it but like all British Tower Blocks, in all fairness, they were built with good intentions. I think if there were maybe a few more or none at all, the ones that were there wouldn't stick out so much but there aren't...so...oh well

Thank you. I also agree with your statement. I think it won an award for something or other quite recently...I just can't remember which!

Thankyou Stephen - nice pictures. I'm not exactly sure which Brutalist tower you mean as there seems to be brutalist towers all over Bristol. However, if you an give another description, I'd be happy to go and get some pics of it.

Looks like a really metropolitan and major city, I'll have to pay it a proper visit sometime. How big does it feel say compared to a Newcastle, Leeds or Manchester to those who've been?
