Most k rakúskemu Schlosshofu by mali začať stavať tento rok

Bratislava. Historické prepojenie bratislavskej mestskej časti Devínska Nová Ves s Rakúskom cez rieku Morava by sa mohlo obnoviť už o dva roky. ČTK to povedal architekt mestskej časti Milan Beláček.

Most a cesta medzi Schlosshofom a Bratislavou stáli podľa Beláčka minimálne od 18. storočia. Most bol zničený počas druhej svetovej vojny.

Podľa neho by sa celá takto spojená prihraničná oblasť v okolí Moravy, Devína a Schlosshofu mohla v budúcnosti uchádzať o zápis do zoznamu svetového prírodného a kultúrneho dedičstva UNESCO.

Shotly in English: Construction of the bridge over river Morava between Slovakia and Austria in Bratislava quarter Devínska Nová Ves should begin in the second half of 2008. This bridge should connect attractive tourist spots like chateau Schlosshof in Austria as well as Prtoectd area Devínska Kobyla, Sanberg and Devín castle in Slovakia. First bridge on that site was built in 18th century.

The view from the hill of Devin is unbelievable. Pretty windy either. No wonder why Austrians built large windfarms on the other side of the border... Has Slovakia plans to install wind-rotors somewhere there too? Or are there some already?

We have 3 wind powerplants. In Kysuce, Myjava and Záhorie with overall power 5.1 MW. Closest to Bratislava are, however, those in Austria. Wind conditions in Bratislava and in close parts of Austria are different, because Bratislava has "shield" - Small Carpathians.

Many comapnies want to build wind powerplants in Slovakia in variuos locations. But, many people are against it because they coud damage the enviroment and break some views they say.

I've got photo of Morva (Morava). This is where Morva flows into Danube from right, under the hill of Devin. The difference of the two colors looked strange to me. Do you know something about it? Is it just normal or Morava is a little bit more polluted? It might be caused by the difference of water temperature though but I didn't experience the same ie. at Szeged where Maros flows into Tisza or in Gyor where Raba flows into Danube.

Taken in 2005.

I don't think Morava is more poluted than Danube. Except some parts in Moravia whole this river is out of the built-up area. It's ussual rivers have different colours and at this picture Danube is definitelly more poluted. Polution don't have to be dark, it can be also light as in this case in Danube.

Yes, but the amount of water flowing in Danube is much-much higher than in Morava, I mean cubic meter/sec. If a 20 tons of pollution gets into Danube in a second it won't have a big effect but if the same amount gets in Morava it will be visible perhaps. Don't you think that Austrian factories next to the border let their waste flow in Morava? We've got similar problems on river Raba. And Austria usually neglects cooperating.

I doubt there is much factories close to the Morava in Austria as well as in Slovakia. Some can be found only in Czech republic. Morava is border river and it's surrounded mainly by forrests so even pollution from agriculture is relatively low. It's true, that Danube between Vienna and Bratislava is National park as well, but the city of Vienna pollutes it quite a lot. Yes Morava is smaller river, but without big cities and industry, unlike Danube.

The colour of the rivers are different because of the different kinds of soil they are flowing through. The colour is determined by the little parts the rivers are carrying, it is a natural thing.

yes, Morava is much cleaner now...anyway, on that picture above, Morava is darker, because it's cleaner, so the light gets absorbed by the water, therefore appears darker. Danube, on the other hand, is muddy and "milky".
