COPENHAGEN - Igen og Igen.

Copenhagen - København - Kopenhagen- Copenhague - Kodaň - Kööpenhamina - Copenaghen - Köpenhamn - Keypmannahavn - Kopenhago - Kaupmannahöfn - Hafnia - Kopenhag....

Thursday, Aug 30 - Sunday, Sep 2
The pictures are more or less in some kind of chronological order and NOT thematically ordered. Unlike all the CPH forumers who can go out and take pics whenever they please and the weather cooperates, I had to capitulate and cope with the weather that was given to me. This means that the quality of some shots might not meet my own usual quality standards and definitely not the quality that you are used to from the great number of CPH threads in the S&B forums.
Still, I hope you appreciate my work!

Pick your favorite:

Andersens Boulevard

City hall:

Strøget in the rain:

Amagertorv:

Seeking shelter:

Kongens Nytorv:

I love the architecture and the trains of the metro, I just wish they'd expand the network quickly.

Not that glamerous.

A first sight of sunlight, on the evening of my first CPH day:

Near Christiansborg:

Folketinget:

Crossing Knippelsbro to Christianshavn, Langebro being opened. No idea, why, though as there was no boat anywhere near:

And it's these moments when you hope that they don't open the bridge...

Ny operaen:

Christianshavn:

Vor Frelsers Kirke, more pics of the view from the observation deck (and the stairs as well, of course) are to follow:

Strolling along the bastions:

Tststs...

Across the water, looking along Andersens boulevard:

Amagerbro to the left:

Taking a walk through Amagerbro, a lovely residential quarter:

Views from the top of Vor Frelsers Kirke. The outdoor stairs are nothing short of spectacular. On the way up, I was trapped in a Danish school class. OMG, these children were loud. Louder than the church bells, I'd say. I didn't expect Nordic people to be so hot tempered.

The Öresund bridge. Expect a seperate Malmö thread tomorrow.

Marmorkirke:

The top end of the stairway. Pretty creepy.

Kongens Nytorv, you might not realize it for the weather, but this is one of the most beautiful squares of Europe:

Nyhavn:

Amaliehavn. It looked like the whole Danish marine was at home:

Marmorkirke:

The new opera again:

Amalienborg:

Originally I just wanted to have one beer in Churchills Parken, due to the rain setting in, I ended up with three beers (Carlsberg, Jacobsen, Tuborg) and a toast.

****ed up lighting:

100 points to the CPH forumer who can tell me where exactly I took this picture from. I left my name there, so you can now go down there and hunt for it.
And please don't tell me: "From Kastellet". I want the exact spot!

VERY disappointing:

Walking to Østerport station to catch the bus to Parken stadium:

This photograph was taken illegally by climbing on top of some scaffolding:

I got myself a cool F.C.K branded bag there. 66 dkr seems reasonable.

I like riding double decker busses. It's a pity that Vienna has taken them out of service a few years back.

Back in the center:

The view from Rundetårn. Malmö in this case:

Pure Denmark: Sterling, Vor Frelsers Kirke, Öresundbro, bad weather. Seems like the Swedes had caught the better weather that day.

Rain setting in. Again.

Peblinge Sø. Evidently, you couldn't generalize about the weather conditions.

Between Forum and Kongens Nytorv:

Strøget on Friday evening:

Rådhuspladsen:

Ved Glyptoteket:

Pity I miss them:

Vienna's Staatsoper:
Oh wait, I mean Copenhagen's Royal theatre:

Kongens Nytorv:

Nyhavn:

Rosenborg Have:

Sortedams Sø:

And that was that! I hope you enjoyed the pics as much as I did enjoy my stay!

PLEASE COMMENT!

BRILLIANT photos, and IMO, the weather made them much more interesting and substantial.

This is the best photo tour of a city in ages.... loved it. Thanks.

I think I have a pretty good idea...

There is this small park about 200m from the Mermaid.. and it's the perfect spot to watch the sun rise ( this was a must for one of my exes after a night out )... from there you can also climb down on the rocks and get real close to the water... so that's my guess!

But if so that's one hell of a zoom lense!

( my alternative guess would be that you took a canal tour - but hopefully you didn't tag the boat? )

EDIT: I found one of my pictures from the place and I'm certain I guessed it... it's the tiny white tower in the middle of the little park right?

You could say so, I guess...

That tower is actually part of a playground.

Wonderful, just wonderful how you presented this "tiny small beuatyful town". Do you really not work for the CPH tourist office? ;-) Your Thread made me wish to visit CPH again.
