Sears by far.

And even then, I think the Sears is a pretty uninspiring and dull building.

Sears.

Neither are/were that great architectually, although they both have/had such an imposing presence that they worked for the situations they're in.

I like WTC, it is the only one that I have seen in person. Two identical towers over 1300ft. is pretty darn impressive, especially during the early 70's skyscraper era. Although I like the Sears Tower as well, my vote in this case would have to go to WTC.

^I don't really understand how the Sears can be considered dull in comparison to the Twin Towers, especially when viewed from a distance.

I always liked the WTC towers more.

First of all they had a perfect symmetry, something the Sears lacks.

Secondly, for all the talk of boring concrete walls, I know very few buildings that had a facade like those the WTC towers had. The Sears had the ubiquitous black metal and glass style, and if I walked about where I live I would see a building like that within 5 minutes.

Thirdly, I loved the base of the WTC. Those huge steel pillars that split into three surrounding the lobby were wonderful.

Where else did you see that on a modernist building?

Both are dull as all hell. But I have to say Sears Tower. No matter where you are you can see it, menacing, looming, in the background, always dark, gothic. I think the trade centers added to the NYC skyline, but in of themselves were nothing spectacular or interesting. Besides, we have Sears Tower AND a standing "Trade Center", take that NYC!:
