Demolition of the old highrise

According to some insider informations (topf secret!), they're going to start with the demolition workings of the old highrise on the construction site of Kaiserkarree at November 26th. In Frankfurt this actually means: There already have to be a building contract with the investor, so it may be about to start rising in 2008!

We'll see

Great news indeed. Can't wait to see it rising. This will provide long needed density for Frankfurt's skyline.

great. it's not particularly tall, but so massive - it will change the banking district entirely and fill a very important gap (anyone care to make a simulation?)

I hope the redesign will bring some positive changes to the base though

its a possibilty after we heard that the tower is being marketed, but I think the next towers on the agenda will be the sparkassen tower, the tower for pricewaterhouse coopers and the matheus church tower

I like it........, it's not Just a "box", the setbacks and notches are IMO at the appropriate locations, and the mass works well with the surrounding buildings, plus it's to be clad in "natural stone" which will look alot better than the renderings can show...

The reason that i like it most is, as i said, it fits in very well with the surrounding towers,

Kaiserkarree will be a gem. Not only does it fill the skyline but it will offer much needed downtown living space, a panorama restaurant and no scarcity of shops in the base of the building. This is HUGE!

With Park Tower completed, FrankfurtHochVier and Opernturm on the way and UEC tower, Matthaustower, PWC tower (all three with high likelihood), ECB tower and Degussa tower in the making Frankfurt's future is looking strong to say the least.

The building that the Kaiserkarree will replace is Rheinische Hypothekenbank, a 10-story lowrise. It should be under demolition by now. I don't know when that building was first constructed.

No idea either, maybe in the sixties. Demolition has not yet started but the move out should be done. Demolition probably starts in January.

That's exactly what I do. The lower candidates are more or less clear. Now I am waiting for something bigger than 130 to 185 meters. There is still enough demand for two or more of those left...

I say its either the neue mainzer tower or tower1 of the uec.

im glad the ugly 60s buildings on the kaiserkarree site are going to disappear soon.
