It's not ugly

In fact it looks to be one of the oldest in Frankfurt Am Main and should be preserved. One of the few examples of a Miesan-style mid-century modern skyscraper in the entire central Europe.

I like the res. tower as well. I love this type of clean, white concrete facade.

it's sandstone. will age gracefully, unlike concrete.

The design of the residential tower is absolutely superb! Frankfurt needs more of this.

This old Commerzbank building became the first highrise talller than 100 m in Frankfurt surpassing the kathedral (95 m) ,which made the height limit before for the city fathers. I think it was completed in 1971 (?), the now demolished Uni - Tower (116 m) followed in 1972 /73.

Does anyone remember to the huuuuge yellow swatch watch hanging down from the building in ca 1985 as a kind of PR - gag , probably have pics...?

TT fits out very cool and beautyful , also the residential tower .
At "Marieninsel" with a given height limit of 210 m the stupid project developer Hochtief changed the height limit by the city fathers to only 155m for a boring office tower , but between skyper and Deutsche Bank a+200m would look better , I think , probably a Condo or mixed used tower ...

In the pic from west ( Friedensbruecke ) is IGM and Interconti in the foreground . Does anybody know if they will paint or clean or modernize the outside .... ? (the Interconti)
I think its Frankfurts second largest Hotel and the largest in the center ...

The TaunusTurm was so due. At least for the Main perspective.
