That's just a little disturbing Ali.

Been to the tennis this year? Or the midsumma festival? I was bummed that I missed the opening carnival, and the lunar festival in Victoria St.

Is that still an issue ? I thought that that everybody was "****-what-u-like" in the 21st Century .... gender is an after thought

I try not to define myself too much, I'm who I am and that's just fine with me. I do have a girlfriend though if that helps.
Oh and I won't be making the concert, too much shit happening atm I'm afraid.

Thanks everyone for your kind words; you make it all the more worthwhile.

Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, is packing up and heading to Melbourne. The city's art and social scene is booming, fueled by hordes of young, directionless students flooding the city in search of cheap property and real coffee. Only a few more weeks to go until I'll be setting in to life by the Yarra

I don't know why you like Collingwood though. Johnston was kind of cool, but I've never seen so many junkies concentrated into one area before (it made Amsterdam's red light district look tame). The buildings were beautiful though. Pictures would be appreciated
Collingwood rules!!

Smith Street has bars and clubs to cater of any taste, except mainstream.

The Berlin-inspired underground warehouse parties in the backstreets of Collingwood are wild; attracting hundreds of people nearly each weekend.

Seriously? In Collingwood? I might have to check them out when I arrive.

And Gappa, I don't care if you gay/straight/bi/whatever. I 'm beyond that. But now that i know that there's a slight chance of me being able to seduce you, I'll all in for the hunt

These are just a few randoms from the last week.

A great way to get thrown in gaol is to take photos at a swimming pool.

This is probably the nicest looking Mickey D's in Melb. A beautiful art deco building in Clifton Hill that has been converted.

These are also from Clifton Hill (you'll be moving very close to here city_thing), along Queens Parade.

And this is a shot of the city from just in front of my house. I'm about 8-9 kms from the CBD.

Dark skies over Cranbourne!

Here it is - the parts of Melbourne ‘they’ don’t want you to see – the real Melbourne…. the suburbs!

Yes I was brave enough to venture into the sprawl and capture some of the horror that is Melbourne’s fringe. And yes I will probably be hunted down and liquidated by Tourism Victoria. But the truth most be shown!
Please if you are of a weak stomach or have a rickety heart go no further, click back on your browser and purge this thread from your cookies. If however you are of strong mind and body, or the kind of person who gets a kick out of freak shows then I welcome you to your worst nightmare….

The following shots were taking in the region around Cranbourne and Berwick on Melbourne’s southeastern fringe. This area was once farmland and I have fond memories of visiting my relatives in Berwick when it was still just a country village. Now has been consumed by the suburbs, surrounded by housing estates by the names of Lyndhurst and Lakeview.
I have altered some of the shots to make them a bit more interesting. After all they are all basically the same picture! Shudder!

These are of the Monash or South eastern freeway, just to break up the pain for a while.

Did you really have to show the rest of the world how horrible Australian suburban sprawl is? :P

And I've been looking at places in Clifton Hill online. It's looks like such a cool little suburb, and I'm definetly heading to the Fitzor/fitzroy north/clifton hill area. Brunswick street beacons.
