Very. Looking forward to two weeks time; it might be warm enough to wear my summer dress!

In one of our newspapers last night they had a photo from the day before of Miss Piggy (an acrobatic pig) flying through the air at an exhibition in Melbourne!

Must have been at the Royal Melbourne Agricultural Show. Ask The Collector for more info on this wonderful yearly event.

A Sunday stroll

I also (thanks for stealing my thunder Ade) was recently in Port Melbourne. As the name suggests this was one of Melbourne's early ports (the other being Melbourne itself) and used to have the much more interesting name of Sandridge.

Please join with me as I traversed it's quaint and not so quaint streets.........

I started off in my home suburb of Prahran, walking through Greville street to the train station.

I got off the train at Southern Cross Station and walked down Spencer St to my brother's apartment and the tram stop.

The tram/light rail line to Port Melbourne follows the exact same route as Australia's first rail line. A lot of the rail infrastructure remains such at the old station at the tram terminii.

This part of Port Melbourne has been heavily developed, especially with many bay front apartment buildings.

This is Williamstown and it's many shipyards.

And this is the Spirit of Tasmania docked at Station Pier. Station Pier is Melbourne's main passenger ship terminal. Many thousands of new immigrants first arrived in Australia here.

The Spirit of Tasmania is the regular ferry to and from Tazzie.

Welcome to Melbourne!

It was a great day for a stroll on the beach or along the promenade.

I then headed up Port Melbourne's main drag - Bay St - towards the CBD.

I couldn't resist sticking the old wide angle on and snapping these two.

And I finally ended up back at the tram line; my short tour having come to an end.

Interesting tour! I'd enjoy stopping in a few of those pubs to try the local ale!
