What a pretentious video!
It's put me off more than made me excited. At least pictures do show a good office development.

B*****y annoying I'd say!

But the development looks good and it's great to see more Grade A coming up - and away from the main core too!

This is a good development.....just watch the video with the sound off!

That one yeah... thanks. I really liked the look of that. The one we're getting looks a bit business parky to me...

Non-descript comes to mind. That previous black one was pretty nice and taller too.

Post report on 'work starting'

Quote:
Work starts on £40m Calthorpe House offices
Oct 16 2007

Work has started on Calthorpe House, a £40 million Grade A office scheme in Birmingham.

The environmentally-friendly 105,600 sq ft development is at the junction fronting Calthorpe Road, close to Five Ways island.

It is a joint venture between Calthorpe Estates and Marshgate Developments, and will feature large, open floor plates of up to 22,200 sq ft. Calthorpe Estates commercial director David Povall said: "This is a significant step in our vision to deliver the highest quality office space to Birmingham.

"Calthorpe House represents best practice at every level. It will deliver more than 105,000 sq ft of Grade A office accommodation to the market in March 2009 and, more importantly given its sustainable credentials, it will continue to deliver benefits for its surrounding environment for many years to come."

Calthorpe House has been designed by Birmingham architects Webb Grey and will be built by construction firm HBG.

Pardon my ignorance, but I'm not an office development sort.

What makes an office "Grade A", why have we had a lack of them up to now and what will they bring us?

Don't get me wrong - I understand that "Grade A" is good news.....
