[Bratislava] Metro

How big is the traffic between Vienna and Bratislava? Maybe a line connecting the 2 cities would be good.

there is a train going from Bratislava-Main Station to Wien-Südbahnhof every hour. Then there is a train going from Bratislava-Petrzalka (something like a Bratislava-Südbahnhof) to Wien-Südbahnhof every hour. You could say there is a train to Vienna every half hour.

EDIT: the A6 that will join Vienna and Bratislava southways will be opened soon(end of this year I think), and a northern expressway is also planned.

here you can find all information about the A6. Will be open to traffic on 19.11.2007.

the northern connection is the S8, construction 2013-2015

I still don't understand why there are no (or at least I don't know about them) direct trains from Bratislava to Vienna without any stops. Direct train could be in Vienna in 30 minutes but with all those stops it lasts about a hour.

No, strange is that IC trains stop in every village. Just look at this: http://cp.atlas.sk/Route.asp?cl=S&i=...8&s2=6644&p=AT and you will see the strangest schedule ever. IC train from Košice - Bratislava - Wien which stops only in important cities and railway hubs but behind Austrian border it stops in almost every station.

Looking at your timetable, and then checking our,I just realized that CE and EE railways still suck! doing 4-600kms in 6-10 hours...No wonder everyone uses cars...

Okay, this link seems to be a Vienna - Bratislava suburban link that want to connect the metro area between the twin cities. Also, a station in Petržalka is necessary, cause there is different voltage in Slovakia and Austria and Petržalka is used like an interchange station. So, the track between Vienna and Bratislava is something like suburban rail.
