this is an ancient city, it's the chinese capital before communist take the power in 1949. when i went to this city, in a lot of streets, huge tress keeps you out of sunshine in summer days.

nanjing is one of the famous "four chinese ancient capitals" along with Xi'an\Beijing\luoyang city.in ancient china, 10 dynasty choose nanjing for capital. from 1905-1949,nanjing is the capital of china.when the communist party took the power, they choose beijing instead of nanjing as new china's capital.
nanjing has 6600 square kilometers eara, 7 million population, 3 million population in downtown eara.
nanjing is about 200 KM west of shanghai.
nanjing has longest ancient city wall in china.
