The Great Midwestern Photo Thread

Ok kids, here's another chance to let your city shine. Post photos that you think are the best representations of your city, whether a skyline shot, street shot, whatever.

Even though it's blurry and an old photo, this is one of my favorite ...

This is one I took. Best photo? Debatable. Best angle? I think so.

Is that a rendering of Paul Brown stadium? Hah, it doesn't look real.

Indy's skyline appears the densest when you look at it from the Northeast.

Are you sure? That Cinergy Ballpark you refer to looks strangely familiar...like Riverfront Stadium, maybe?!! I am not 100% positive, but I'd be surprised if that is Cinergy. It looks just like Riverfront, with that unmistakeable "cookie-cutter" shape stadiums of that era had...ie. Three Rivers, Busch, Fulton County (Braves) Stadium, Qualcomm (formerly Jack Murphy), the Kingdome (roofed version)...I'm sure I'm missing some.

Wow, thanks a bunch! Never heard of it before...
Why, then, did you refer to Riverfront as Cinergy?
By the way, I think Cincy did a kick-ass job developing the riverfront with the new stadiums. Beautiful, really.

That's a great shot. Used to walk that strip all the time. Never considered the view though.

... Because it was Cinergy Field at the time the photo was taken.

that stretch has some really cool old industrial buildings that would make fantastic condos or art galleries.
Seems like a waste.
The view is great, very gritty.

I once had a lovely pic from the NW, i found it like on one of the new condo sites. I believe it was for 333 Mass Ave. Not only does our skyline have a nitty, gritty sorta industrial look from there. But it also looks very European even Egyptesque (i.e. The Murat & Riley Towers)

I like that shot a lot. I've also always liked Indy from the riverfront. Especially now with LOS reaching its height. White River Parkway between New York and Michigan always gives a great view of the city. I can't find a pic right now (had a recent hd crash and things are scattered), but I was pretty happy when I saw that NBC had a crew out there for skyline shots during Thursday night's game.

Skyline shots in smaller cities like Indy can very dramatically from angle to angle. You can see why this

is more flattering than this

Was this the angle you were talking about? scroll>>>>>
