![]() A view of the city from the Rally Park. I like this area it has lots of potential if the city council and developers get it right. It also is the site of that fabulous monument the Demostaph Plinth.

How bleak does that look!
But yes it is a site that is prime for development, such a pity then that the Simpson project was cancelled and the St Augustine development is nowhere to be seen. I spent many mornings walking to work through that park when my girlfriend lived nearby and pictured the towers standing tall by the water - what a let down

At least the new tower can be seen.
It does make me sad to see the area like this, especially the mill.

It took ages for them to make a decision on the Corah site - over 2 years and that was back on 2010. If they don't get a move on then they'll have to reapply.
http://rcweb.leicester.gov.uk/planni...x?PPRN=MLM4874 This delay is no surprise then.

Talking of not updated websites, remember Staniforth architects were meant to have updated their website a year ago, with the proposals for the Peacock lane bus depot site:
http://www.stanifortharchitects.co.uk/ I'm wondering when on earth the images of this development will materialize!

It took Nottingham City Council about 4 weeks to make a decision on a small side extension I was doing. It took them a fucking week to register it on the website

Some great views around that area. A fair height up, which is why the nearby Glenfield Tunnel is over a mile long. This picture shows how the University itself is also high up on a hill. The views over towards Nottingham, from the University Attenborough Buildings are fantastic.

Been a few months since I was around Braunstone Gate, will take a walk when I'm in town next and have a look at the swimming pool, too.

Yes. I have a few photos taken before the sheds were demolished which show just how awful they were! I'll post them if I can find them.

I know from driving through the area that you get a good view of Leicester from near Sileby, Mountsorrel in certain spots. Someone with a decent camera should head that way.
