The three sisters looks not bad and seems an appropriate type of development, but the design could use a bit of work. The lower floor townhomes need some slight variation, and refinement where the two join at the parking entry. The second empire mansard on top is a so-so concession to historical architecture which is neither great or terrible.

Seems to be a vibrant city looking at all those projects. Have some of them been completed in the mean time?

Let's see, it's been awhile since I posted that...

1. Of course, everything under construction was completed.

2. The Justice Complex, Police Station and garage are under construction now.

3. The "Three Sisters Condos", now known as Harbourfront Residences is under construction and has topped out.

4. The Coast Guard Site was purchased, but construction hasn't started yet.

5. Q-Plex is done and is open.

6. Sewage treatement is ongoing.

7. One Mile interchange is nearing completion.

8. Fort Dufferin Condos and new school are either on hold are will not be completed as planned.

9. Stadium renos are done, with an artificial turf field.

10. Market Square office expansion is done.

11. Irving refinery and office building are cancelled.

12. Nuclear power plant is still under renovation.

13. Mountainview condos are done up to stage 2.

14. Costco, car dealerships are done.

15. Seniors complex is done, and a new one is under construction in the city.

There are also a couple of new townhouses and apartment buildings not mentioned that are completed. The next promising uptown development on the waterfront is the Coast Guard redevelopment which will include apartments, a hotel, retail and condos.

Big box retail continues to develop on the city's east side. There are a few restaurants and stores locating in the urban core which are especially needed to keep this relatively small city vibrant.

I was just in your city a few days ago for the first time, and I must say, it's downtown is beautiful. I loved the market, and the buildings are gorgeous.

Your water fronts are a little rough though unfortunately! I was really dissapointed that such a beautiful city had virtually no 'welcoming' parks of vast size. Even for people coming in on cruise ships! Take advantage of such a beautiful setting.

Other than that, it's quite a cool city!

Saint john

A.yes I live In Rothesay just outside Saint John.. The city of Saint John has many problems.. The main one is our crooked mayor.. He likes to have big buildings built so he can get the kick-backs and get richer.. Did you notice the roads the pot holes that are breaking down everybodys cars including mine... Not to mention the very high taxes on properties houses and stikers for our cars. Taxes that keep going up every year. It makes me want to vomit in terror... Just venting...

Fundy Quay Concept

Here are two concept drawings of Fundy Quay (AKA Coast Guard Site). There are four interested developers, and I hear one is in discussion about developing the site. An announcement should (hopefully) come in August.
