[QUOTE=vinodh.sv;89856818]There is a space to send our opinion here

http://puthiyathalaimurai.tv/news/suggestion-form

Im gonna flood with my opinions on CBE and Budget. Friends please try to contact other influential sources to rise our voice and let know the people on our demands.

I saw Dinamalar news (City page) stating that CM has a notion that all benefits were given to CBE during DMK period, so there wont be any necessity for CBE.

Is that what we get. Nothing materialized. Everything had been plans.

Two main concerns are 1) Rejuvenating Textile and allied industries 2)Infrastructure.[/QUOTE

Can you paste or copy the details from Dinamalar for your comments "I saw Dinamalar news (City page) stating that CM has a notion that all benefits were given to CBE during DMK period, so there wont be any necessity for CBE. "

If it is true, what CBE MLAs are doing..

Today there is an agitation planned by Vivasaigal sangam against NHAI near Narasimhanaicken Palayam opposing NHAI's plan to start Mettupalay Bypass.

Can we figure out what was the budget allocated by the DMK govt. for the development of CBE and how much was actually spent (excluding Semmozhi Vizha)?

I didn't watch it. Issue is more than power (ofcourse power is a huge reason for now).

Check "Save the economy" link on my signature. Did they say anything more than that? Can you post the crux of what they said? Thanks!!

Malabar Gold to set up facilities in Coimbatore, Kolkata

Malabar Gold to set up manufacturing facilities in the jewellery inCoimbatore, Kolkata

Chennai, March 29:

Kerala-based jewellery retailer Malabar Gold is looking to set up manufacturing facilities in the jewellery hubs of Coimbatore and Kolkata.

The company operates manufacturing units in Kerala (Kozhikode and Thrissur) and UAE (Sharjah).These units spanning 30,000-50,000 sq feet each, contribute to just 10 per cent of Malabar Gold’s overall jewellery requirements.

These units make only basic mass products. Specialised products and handcrafted jewellery are sourced from goldsmiths and vendors across the country, especially Kolkata, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Kerala and Coimbatore.

“In the long term, we are targeting 50 per cent to come from own units,” said Mr Abdul Salam, Group Executive Director.

The company is scouting for a location in Coimbatore. The facility is expected to come up in the next six months.
Post this, Malabar Gold will also explore manufacturing options in Kolkata and Maharashtra.

Don't expect anything from che gov. Nothing will materialize. தன் கையே தனக்குதவி (Double meaning'a edukkatheenga). Only way to sustain other cities in the mean time is through sons of soil investing expirate money (like Kerala).

What all from the box news materialized? I have seen

* Mettupalayam BS
* Widened Avanashi road, Trichy road
* TIDEL
* Hopes college bridge
* Pillur water scheme under construction

And from KonguTamizhan's post a while ago, I learnt that UGD is halted/halfway through in Saibaba colony areas, and I hope Mettupalayam road widening is underway or is that Marudhamalai road widening? What are the others yet to materialize? How about the parks and platforms for walking specified in it? I guess the ukkadam flyover fund allocation news will come out of the SH minister's mouth in this month during discussion session because the more specific split ups in SH fund allocation has not yet been mentioned.

Coimbatore: a major centre for overseas business travel

Coimbatore: a major centre for overseas business travel

Coimbatore is not only a major destination for business travellers from abroad and other parts of the country, but also a region that sees a large number of outbound business travel.

Tour operators here say that though the economic slowdown in Europe had resulted in a decline in business travel to the European countries for the last couple of months from here, Coimbatore continues to be a major centre for those going overseas for business.

Trade fairs, buyer-seller meets, and exhibitions in other countries are a big attraction for participants and visitors. Over 60 per cent of visitors to such events combine it with a short vacation. Germany is among the frequently visited countries in Europe and many travellers prefer to combine it with a short vacation in France, Netherlands or Switzerland, says one of the leading tour operators here.

There are many who have started travelling to countries such as Russia, Mongolia, South American and African destinations to explore new business opportunities. In the case of those travelling with their family, awareness has improved tremendously and they gather a lot of information about the destination. Managing Directors and senior executives are frequent travellers.

However, in the recent years companies have started sending others too on such trips, especially to destinations such as China, to help the employees upgrade their knowledge on overseas business trends and also as an incentive.

Business travel from Coimbatore region is intact with a slight dip only to the European destinations, adds another major tour operator here. Nearly 70 per cent of business travel from this region is now unplanned and for short durations such as two or three days.

Even those in the manufacturing sector have expanded their overseas exposures and travel for just a couple of days for meetings. Most of the travellers in this segment do not combine it with a vacation, the operator adds.

First of all these things materialised not just in one day. Lots of years, I think both DMK and ADMK govt dumped us. The widening of Avinashi road has actually seen only cutting of trees and beautification for semmozhi manadu.

I can accept that Mettupalayam road is widened. All other schemes had taken many years not to complete but just to start and continues even in 2012 in half baked manner. The Tidel park is the biggest marriage hall in TN as of now. That too CBE needed from 1998. I remember bomb blast collapsed everything. Bomb blast is just a way to escape for these politicians. Balanced development is required.

Of course other cities in TN should have enough importance. Its a welcome decision that Madurai got fund for infrastructure (adhula evalo golmal nadakumo). But with the kind of growth in CBE if we dont get any support from govt. we may lose a world class commercial hub in making. Cha very desparate ya.

* TIDEL [Enga veetula adutha generation kalyanam ellam andha mandabathula than nadathuratha mudivu senjirukkom]
* Hopes college bridge
* Pillur water scheme under construction [Only area where I would give credit to SG is all water schemes. Aana adhulayum konjam kora vechitannga, athikadavu. But considering the SG's execution track record definitely above average peformance on this area.]

And from KonguTamizhan's post a while ago, I learnt that UGD is halted/halfway through in Saibaba colony areas, [not only SB colony, many areas are like afganistan warzone] and I hope Mettupalayam road widening is underway [another sindbad /never ending story]or is that Marudhamalai road widening? [indha megaserial aarmbikkattum parpom] What are the others yet to materialize? How about the parks and platforms for walking specified in it? [another good thing done by previous DMK government, but I don't know how they are maintained now. My parents still say that parks around our house are good, but I remember posting an article here that not all are well maintained] I guess the ukkadam flyover fund allocation news will come out of the SH minister's mouth in this month during discussion session [coimbatore threadulayae kusumba? ]because the more specific split ups in SH fund allocation has not yet been mentioned.

e-Holidays to start office in Coimbatore

e-Holidays to start office in Coimbatore

Destination management company e-Holidays will start its Coimbatore office on April 2.

Head of India operations of the company Mohamed Safeel told presspersons here on Saturday that the Dubai-based company, which is part of the Eram Group, has 17 branches in West Asia. It offers packages for outbound and inbound travel. After opening its first Indian office in Coimbatore, the company plans to expand to Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai and Kochi by July 2012. The company would offer 60 readymade inbound and outbound travel packages. Its focus will be on leisure travel for premium clientele, he said.

In the first year of operations in India, e-Holidays is expected to cater to nearly 3,000 clients (international and domestic travel). The company will focus on institutions and corporates too.

The company will have inaugural offers for the first 100 customers. The domestic packages will be arranged by road, flight or rail, depending on the needs of the customer and the location.

Apart from readymade packages, customised tours will also be organised.

Just one suggestion before going to railway committee/Mr.Raveendran

instead of asking for a new night train to blr, why is not possible to change timing for lokmanya tilak which starts at 8 in morning to night.
