Well sometimes we should accept those "faceless" objects and not force into some faked uniqueness. I know the land prices are high, but if the company has to resort to this kind of architecture, it's a sign of something wrong happening. I know that stuff similar to this happened in cities like Hong Kong, but it should not happen at all. I'm sure it's just greed, because surely the prices in that building will be high enough to break even very quickly.

One of the rare moments in which I totally agree with Kanto. That tower needs to stay as it is.

I think it would be yet another tall building, raising up the skyline slightly and not overshadowing the sctructures around it. Supertall skyscrapers have to be either landmarks or iconic objects. For now it has no such features - neither the facade, nor an interesting crown/spire. If it was fitting with its surroundings then it probably wouldn't generate so much talk, and if you ask me, that would be better.
Imagine what would happen if every company went that way - people living in skyscrapers would see sunlight only if they were on the 50th floor or higher ... I hope that more people will discuss such problems and help prevent "unhealthy" and almost irrational constructions.

Both these things are in the eyes of the beholder. for me 432 Park is both a landmark and iconic. And you better get used to thin towers cause that is the way of residential skyscrapers and at the end of the century offices will be history (because of the rapid development of the internet), so only residential skyscrapers will be constructed at that time

Well I guess people have very different tasts then I really hope future won't be like this because not everyone wants to live in a tall box. There should be some logic applied to development, most importantly plans for expansion and future development. This plot surely wasn't meant for such a tall structure, because it looks more like a caricature of a skyscraper and its surroundings are nowhere near its height, even though they are pretty tall already.
If offices are to disappear, wouldn't high housing buildings be obsolete as well ? They are mainly used in city centres and people living in them leave to work in a skyscraper office. Internet is good, but we should never abandon direct human relations and cooperation, just as we shouldn't get rid of short buildings, because they help people build a community with neighbours and actually give them a feeling of being a part of something and owning something.

While I also think there will be many more residential towers around the world and many conversions of office/hotel space will take place... We won't see the complete abolishment of office space, company HQs and the likes. Not in the foreseeable future.

The proposed skyscraper in paris called 'tour GENERALI' would be the tallest building in the EU. It was cancelled fast though. But the crown ontop makes it really ugly.
