There are very few large buildings I truly consider ugly. But I guess others would just be annoyed by their hulking presence..? Not sure.

Not all large buildings have to be ugly. Some of them are nice, some are ugly...

^ Any source/evidence for that? That's rather hard to believe.

Actually, a building like 432 Park Ave aesthetically ruins the Midtown skyline.
Height isn't much of a problem, when accompanied by proper architecture.
