You are one of the few people who has given good reasons as to why you don't like the design, which is totally fine with me. But if I ask anybody else, they mention it's ugly because it was 'abandoned for 16 years' or 'because it's in a failure of a country' which I think is totally unfair

The most similar building to the Ryugyong is the Russia Tower in terms of design and dominating size, so why, exactly, do people not hate it? I've seen nothing but praise for it...

My point summed up, I think it is wrong for a building to be judged by its background, like Americans are doing to the Ryugyong.

I agree with you that a building should not be judged based on the country it is built in. All buildings should be judged fairly

However I disagree with you that North Korea is just below average. It's the most hellish and evil place on the planet. I don't trust tourists who have visited the country. Tourists are shown only what the government wants them to see. People who I do believe are refugees who have escaped the country and those tell bone chilling stories about endless torture, abuse, starvation and random executions. If you're interested in this country I would recommend you googling information from escaped Yodok prisoners. Those are people who truly lived in that country and who felt its brutality on their own skin

You have a point, and I commend you for it. But I think Somalia and some parts of the middle East and Africa are worse. Still, N Korea is pretty brutal.

I really do not like it too.. but maybe in 100 years it will have the same "destiny" of the eiffel tower, so much hated when it was built

I'm no real fan of the Eiffel Tower but this english Olympic monstrosity is hideous. I will say what I always say when ugly buildings try to claim fame from beautiful buildings. Comparing this abomination to the Eiffel Tower is like comparing a Prypiat Burer to Bonnie Wright

Regrettably I believe that it is missed... Because the Eiffel Tower was detesté BEFORE its construction. But once on "feet" (if I may say), people were plutot fascinated (because it was then the highest building of the world I believe).
