And people complain about the one in China that doesn't even look like one.

Out of context:

The government of Paris, wants to change the maximum building height in the 15th to build an isolated triangular 180m high tower, after the trauma of the Montparnasse Tower, Parisians are all opposed to this project that will affect the planning and creating another urban wart in total isolation, in addition, the general shape of the tower triangle is very solid despite reports that make it transparent. the archiecte invisble are eager to make big pile of concrete takes Paris for idiots again.

Paris may have the same wart Pyongyang where another tower shaped triangle that was built to highest ...

A desire to destroy the beautiful Planning Baron Haussmann who is renowned Paris. Damage dirty time for France who loves to destroy or dirty the jewels and successes.

The Socialist Party in all its bullshit

Now, let's try that again

Paris wants to build a stunning and unique piece of architecture in a spot further from the cluster in order to not let its architecture be disrupted by other buildings. Although a small number of Parisians are opposed to this, it is likely that this new icon for architecture will take place very soon.

Despite some claims of a solid appearance, the tower will be built of a web of steel and glass which was designed to allow as much light through as possible and prevent large shadows forming, an ideal feature for the city of Paris.

Many have noted it to appear similar to the new modern glass skyscraper that is nearly finished in Pyongyang, the Ryugyong Hotel and the Shard in London.

A great time for Paris's new boom of modern architecture!

But the "transparent" look of the building will ONLY be retained if the residents/tenants do NOT put up curtains, drapes, etc., etc. What about toilets and dressing rooms? Are those going to be invisible too? And what about a strong sun on the furnishings, etc., of the residents?? SUrely, they will have a right to privacy and to protect their furniture, clothing, etc., etc. from the direct rays of the sun.

Stupid, impractical idea.

I hope the Parisians shoot it down.

I agree. Paris needs some taller buildings (what 40 square mile city of over 2 million doesn't?), but it can do much better than this.

It may look good on paper; but in reality, it will be a bust.

Won't only the top part be residential?

But even so...even companies will want some curtains and walls to hang paintings, drapes and certainly for IPO security especially since their documents and computer screens can be visible to industrial spying from nearby locations. And how do you hide vents and plumbing ducts & pipes?

While I'm a staunch anti-socialist, considering it's the main reason Europe has been going downhill in the past twenty years, lifting height restrictions for this case has nothing to do with leftard governmental policy. Yes the idiot mayor supports it, but so do many free market conservatives. The city will be more economically competitive with La Defence and other suburbs. Tour Montparnasse isn't going anywhere, so if you don't like it, why not support the construction of tall structures? The few buildings that slipped through the cracks of height regulation would certainly stand out less in clusters.

That Paris building is just fat and ugly. It will be fat, ugly and blue if built. I am amazed that people still believe in existence of fully transparent, paper-thin glass that reflects white colour with blue sky present.
Interiors are quite interesting as well - seats, tables, bookshelves and four computers on an entire floor of office space.
Paris doesn't need stuff like that, because it doesn't fit the style. It could fit with some London riverside towers or Amsterdam's weird architecture, but not here.

I don't truly care if it's transparent or not. It just looks good.

Paris already has a large number of skyscrapers in the defense, but this neighborhood represents only 7% of office space in Paris for most of the buildings are low.
The Paris metropolitan area concentrates more than 50 million square meter, making this city just behind New York and Tokyo.
The Paris region is the richest in Europe, GDP is higher than the GDP of the Netherlands.

Paris possesses a unique real estate which is already marred by isolated in the center of paris tours.
The area of defense has the advantage of being built outside the historic area. Not this round, which is more hideous triangular 180m and massive as the photos renderings take people for idiots with a clear round and round with a fine angle side view and not from the front.
