Home Insurance Plaza, New York:

110619-0003 by gaetanku, on Flickr

The white tower to the left of the concrete part is linked to it, making for a very gross dual-tone skyscraper. Yuck!

I like that Macau Casino hotel. Fits very well to a gambling city and very unique.

I like it, too. It has a very creative design. However, I still think it's ugly.

Rhodes Tower, Columbus (Ohio), 1973
629 feet/192 meters
41 floors

It's the tallest building in the city and in Central Ohio (unfortunately).

Well, it's not nearly as bad as the Home Insurance Plaza.

Home Insurance Plaza is well hidden in the Lower Manhattan skyline, though, so it is barely noticeable.

Columbus is hidden in Central Ohio.

Metropolitan Correctional Center, Chicago:

Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC) - Chicago by John Casey, on Flickr

This ugly "correctional center" is hidden very well inside the Loop. No one would notice it from the outside.

IMO there is not much wrong with this tower. The small tower with round corners in front of it is much worse.

This one's not that bad. I mean, being a correctional facility, and due to the location, they didn't seem to have much choice. It seems to me that they pretty much did the best they could with what they had.

The BHP Tower in Perth, Australia.

Completed in 2012, it is not only ugly, but it doesn't fit in with the rest of the skyline, appearing to be twice as fat as all the other skyscrapers.

BHP just looks unfinished in addition to being "fat". Sacramento, California has a similar looking building. It's called the U.S. Bank Tower. At night it has the top part lit up with pulsating/fading purplish/blue light (imagine a propane/gas flame). At least Perth's building is 769 feet tall vs. Sacramento's 402 foot tall version of the BHP.

BHP looks good in Perth. Something different from all the cookie cutter/generic shaped buildings.

Cuz everything is bigger and better in Dallas... except the tower did not end up better in the end. Shenzhen, Texas? worm hole? parallel universe? Yee Yah! I mean Ee aw!
