Sorry, but I have to say it...absolutely no sense of space (and someone please argue that because I would love to hear it). Just two refrigerator boxes. Straight up terrible design for what the architects just HAD to know would be iconic symbols for a city.

WTC were buildings you had to see with your own eyes to appreciate. while they weren't pretty, watching a sunrise over Manhattan from NJ with those two giants finishing the picture was something to behold, trust me.

And that's the point IMO. Simple design, simply the best.

Architecturally, the Sears, John Hancock, Aon, WTC were and are absolute shyte.

What makes them great is them moulding the skyline - the whole is greater than the sum of parts.

My contribution.

The problem that I have with it...it's too damn skinny.

that's not all..look at the windows, they are not lined up vertically. that pisses me off too. Contrast is good...in some cases, and this is definently not one of them!

BTW Ive always thought the John Hancock center was the best building in Boston

Personally i like the madrid skyscrapers, i just really hate the positioning of them all in a row, creates no sense of skyline.

But simple can have a sense of space...which the WTCs did not have any of. Even the sears tower at least has some sense of it, not much but some. The problem is, those buildings represent 100% commerce (which is great and deserving of cities) but no style (which is not right in a time when the economy can justify such buildings). The library tower is a simple building. Basically just a cylinder but it is modified to give it some dimension in place.

I don't really like it, it's location sucks (further from the cluster in Boston) and again, it's too damn skinny.
