It's not THAT bad is it? It's got a nice 'grand' feel to it.

Its a shame how some people call themselves architects...
though many ugly skyscrapers posted here are mostly pre->post war
structures so they might have looked better then.
buildings "move", and their functionality changes over time and
most have degraded to what they are now. IMO

but its hard to imagine someone would include these in the "Ugly thread"

I really hope you were all joking bc these are some of the best designed buildings in the world .
Agree!

i just don't feel the color schemes of these buildings but overall, they're nice

just can't uderstand how can one post such magnificent skyscrapers as Burj Dubai, Burj al Arab, Chicago Spire and some other amazingly beautiful buildings here? guys, this thread is about disgusting highrises but not about those, f.e. colors of which you don't like..

OK WOW you people today are delirious, you think the Bank of america tower in houston is ugly, it is one of my favorites, the empire state building (just a classic building no way to hate it), world trade center complex (possibly the most beautiful buildings ever designed), Transbay tower (great new building beautiful and if it wasnt san francisco wouldnt accept it), Chicago spire (nothing to say but you must be blind), GM buildings (just awe-inspiringly huge, and nice too), you guys are a bunch of bats (bats are blind)

Exactly and Dubai's specialty is they add some Disney-land moorish kitsch touch to it. i mean, in terms of kitsch, they're world champions, and honestly it looks much better than those booring rectangulars in ,,serious,, downtowns of USA and ASIA,.,..

Tollgate House in Bristol UK, stood empty for 20 years and was used as a giant advertising board for a while. It has since been demolished and now on the site is a fantastic new Multi-storey car park for the new Cabot Circus development.

image hosted on flickr

This also shows the adjacent Tollgate car park, which had a wonderful double-decker spiral ramp but was demolished along with the tower in favour of the new development.
