I say it looks better in concrete (albeit completed), than cladded in glass.

About that brewery silo in Frankfurt, there were plans to convert it into a residential tower in the mid-2000s. Does the building even have 33 floors? It is a grain storage silo, so how is the tower gonna be converted to another use?

I quite like the Ryungong Hotel. Interesting mixture.

Is it the building people don't like or what is resembles I wonder?

The AT&T(formerly Bellsouth) tower in Birmingham, Alabama. This building is so ugly I literally have to look away from it whenever I'm in town. 70's generic trash at its most disgraceful.

They recently converted a grain silo in Baltimore (U.S.A) to condos. The silo was the tallest in the world I thought (maybe just U.S.) when it was in operation. Here's a few pics of the finished product...

according to news from january 2008, the tower will remain, but its still not clear how it will be used. there will be a competition for the realization, usage either hotel, fitnesscenter or residential. the restaurant on top shall be reopened. it is expected, that the tower has to be broadened for the reusage, but the silhouette should remain thin (however they gonna do that)
latest news from october 08 tells us only to wait, since the owner of the tower hasn`t found any proper use for it, yet, but still wants to maintain the tower. another big problem is also the fire-protection of it, and that it is too thin for an economic usage.
so it looks like we still have to wait for some real news and developments here..

anyway - that really ugly pyramid thing here - is it in northern korea?

edit: just found another ugly highrise in frankfurt, that will hopefully be replaced in the near future..

the tower on the left is currently reconstructed and will get a new fascade this year.. the ugly exposed-concrete-tower to the right belongs to frankfurt-university and shall be replaced with about 3residential highrises.. but its been a long time since ive heard some news about this project...

im with redstone, it was better as concrete. of course it would probably make a better pile of rubble then it did a building.
