That´s really ugly. It´s an insult to such an incredible area.

there's an incredible juxtapose - the green-topped 20's/30's masterepiece and a brand new peice of steaming botty biscuit. Beyond awful. Shame on NYC.

Many people hate it, especially because the window blinds and curtains don`t match, the air conditioners, the facade is begging for some maintenance, and besides it`s not really located in the best place.

Well, but after all, I like it (and compared with the aberrations shown here it`s not bad at all)

Despite the air conditioners and the curtains´ colors it´s very elegant, with the columns and the marble that covers the sides.

Why do they even build newly-constructed buildings that don't match their historical surroundings?

I've seen this building in Prague last summer, and I liked it very much. It's a nice design, especially for the surrounding.

Now that's something:

Łucka City, Warsaw's ugliest skyscraper. 120m, completed 2004.

I'll have to agree. I don't like those new giant mosques springing up all over SE Asia.

I don't really think its ugly per se, but that it looks cheesy.
I'd call it Walt Disney Mosque!
I could see someone strapping a pair of giant Mickey Mouse ears on it!

But mosques are part of SEAsia as Buddhist temples

Its not about the mosques, its about their design. They're gigantic and hideous, completely over-the-top, end up looking like Islamic Disney castles (i.e. fakes)

Beautiful traditional mosque:

Harbour Centre, (below) in Vancouver B.C., has THAT weird observation tower/revolving restaurant perched above it....

It reminds me of " The Jetsons " (below)....

This is a thread for ugly skyscrapers, not about the skyscrapers that you don't like. How there are people that call ugly, buildings like Sears Tower, Spire, Agbar, Swiss Re... Why there are so many crazy people?
