I suppose. Cheap or not cheap, it was not one of my favourite architectural styles. In fact I would say that to me any style based mostly on novelty decoration or shape grows tiresome and passé very quickly.

I really don't like these ones in Tel Aviv:

There is also this CCTV thing in Beijing. Although it has a very nice cladding, I hate its shape and size (like some kind of monster about to attack the city). But I think it looks better at night with a suitable lighting.

Well, luckily the Chicago spire didn't get built, otherwise it would look something like this as well lol, and that would have been 600m as well

The city of Tilburg (Netherlands) probably has the worst highrises in the country

The first one is horrendous (has been posted before here in the thread I believe) ... bad idea, badly excecuted, badly fitted urbanistically, I'm still amazed everytime I pass it.

But the Interpolis building is quite an impressive and nice building in its own way and Westpoint is a rather lonely but for the rest very well designed skyscraper.

I can't agree more with you sir! I live in Tilburg and I think the Interpolis building is the only saving grace...

I don't really like this building in Guangzhou, I think they should use a better render

Although, the Pearl River Tower has a nice cladding, but I mean, the building looks so ugly, so I almost threw up when I saw this

That rendering seems to me to be poorly executed in that it is hard to see what is happening with the building. I wouldn't say it is ugly, however....

I would like the top one better if the top section design had carried down all the way for the entire tower. Then it would look quite miesian....

This one looks like a volcano, or better a giant "Gugelhopf" cake! Although I think it's quite ugly, something about it is actually mesmerizing...
