I hope these ones haven't been posted before. Anyway, they belong in this thread.

Astrid Park Plaza hotel (now Radisson Blu), Antwerp.

This building is just utterly ugly. It looks plastic, like the castle in Disney land. It was designed by the famous architect Michael Graves. I really don't understand how this is supposed to be beautiful. If it would be located in some ugly suburb, I would not care too much. However, it is located just opposite one of the most beautiful railway stations in the world. People who arrive in our city by train immediatelly see this monstrosity when they leave the station. Great

If they would at least have designed it symmetrically. Maybe that would reduce the eyesore a little bit.

And it doesn't get better in the dark.

This is the police headquarters from 1958. It was designed by the famous architect Renaat Braem. I guess it could improve with a renovation, but at the moment it is hideous.

The upper part, made of concrete, isn´t bad at all. I like the shape.
It´s what I call "clean" architecture. What I don´t like is that it doesn´t match the square glass aesthetics of the bottom part and the building to the right. This makes the concrete part look out of place.

You can put all those buildings in a city in China.

The hotel in Antwerp is indeed hideous, but the police hq is very nice, may need a renovation, but it really like it.

First World Hotel in Genting Highlands, Malaysia
The architect must be high on LSD!

Metropolitan Cathedral Liverpool
Looks like some kind of death ray cannon

Some buildings around are just as bad.

I agree. The hotel is a shame for Antwerp and ruins the square in front of the stunning central station.
The Police Tower is a masterpiece of modernist Renaat Braem, and was a part of it's administative quarter, which was only realised partly. I agree it is somewhat misplaced in the heart of the old town, but it only needs a renovation to shine like it was supposed to.

The Frankfurt hotel is quite nice. Can you enter the side parts or is it just a façade?

Well, there are two towers

Anyway, I've seen many low-rises in this thread.

Well... I think this building has a great design, it will be an icon.... the height (+ 400 m) and the urbanism renewal.

Very original the Radisson building, nice glasses.

It could be better with only one of those curves.
