Can't argue with that. There's really not much to Gastown. It's a slice of Vancouver's past which is aimed at tourists. You didn't cut and paste from Wikipedia did you?

The pictures are really great. The street level Vancouver looks much more welcoming and livable than the usual pictures of Vancouver that are posted on this board.

East as in eastern Canada? Eastern Europe? East Asia? I suppose you'd be right in most cases... I'm unsure of whether you're trying to say that is a bad thing though.

LOL, no, please, tell us what you really think!

that's some serious anger!

as far as gastown, it consists of a couple square blocks, consisting of mainly shitty souvenir stores, nice buildings, and a couple nice restaurants.

tudor style facades? haha. if you're referring to the late 19th century architecture of buildings that were built in the late 19th century, why would anyone dislike that kind of history/character? i certainly would not want them to be demolished. and lol at cities who preserve pre 20th century architecture being accused of practicing quaint English bullshit! especially if they're nowhere near england!! how dare they!

When I was in Gastown, I ended up by mistake in Hastings Street...OMG, that is the nasties place with the nastiest people I have EVER seen in my whole life. It was packed with stinky Junkies injecting heroin in the middle of the day. My God, what a shock that was. The government should do something to fix this little part of the city. Aside from this, the city is FANTASTIC.

Give it 10-15 years, it'll all be gone. A lot will be happening to that area over the next few years, complete redevelopment.

And it's not like we haven't done anything to revive that area, we've poured in hundreds of millions of dollars already.
